THE TOUGHEST EXPERIENCE SHE WENT THROUGH

Niki says “This is a difficult question to answer.  I've had a lifetime of experiencing trauma that would probably fit the bill. I am soon to be twice divorced, and I've overcome a litany of issues of the sort that affect women all too often, from molestation and rape as an adolescent to abusive relationships and mental breakdowns as an adult.  But I am not here to tell those stories.

While going through these trials I often thought they would break me.  When I came out I too often believed I was completely free, unaware that I was dragging the residue of those experiences into my next seasons.  

Eventually, all of it culminated in a body of lies that I'd come to believe about myself. These lies go by many names...imposter syndrome, low self-esteem, procrastination, and perfectionism. So to answer the question, the actual toughest thing I've ever had to do is break free.

I'm in the process right now of completely rebuilding my life.  Literally, every space where I've felt comfortable or built my identity is being expanded or challenged.  It's beyond difficult, and succeeding will mean letting go of some fondly held beliefs and boundaries.  But what was a boundary in the last season can become bondage in the next if you're not willing to shift.

So that's what I'm doing now, and it's the hardest thing I've ever done.

WHAT IMPACT AND HOW DOES SHE IMPACT OTHERS

For Niki, she encourages others to give permission for their lives to be beautiful.  Challenge the ugly spaces, and embrace the fullness of their destiny.  

What Motivates Her

What motivates her is that progress and emotional freedom as the biggest motivators in this season. With such significant changes happening in her world, She finds it imperative to remain divinely connected and in tune with God's plan.
