How To Become More Confident?

CONFIDENCE HAS NO COMPETITION

Beyonce says, "The most alluring thing a woman can have is confidence."

As woman we should know our value and worth, a woman that knows her worth doesn't measure herself against another woman, but stands strong, calm and self confident.

LET'S TALK ABOUT CONFIDENCE

What is confidence?

Confidence is a belief in oneself, the conviction that one has the ability to meet life's challenges and to succeed—and the willingness to act accordingly. Being confident requires a realistic sense of one’s capabilities and feeling secure in that knowledge.

Projecting confidence helps people gain credibility, make a strong first impression deal with pressure, and tackle personal and professional challenges. It’s also an attractive trait, as confidence helps put others at ease.

How to be more confident?

Your confidence and positivity are infectious. You’ll draw others in to you. You don’t have to be faux-positive (no one wants that)—it’s just that little shift in focus to find your silver lining and realize the learning opportunity in every struggle.

Tell yourself you’re great, awesome, amazing, and worthy—because lady, YOU ARE!

Fortunately, there are several ways you can increase your self-confidence and here are some of the following:

  1. Begin by acknowledging every emotion, including difficult emotions, rather than avoiding them. Speaking up for yourself, limiting self-criticism, and other strategies can help build emotional strength and confidence.
  2. Stop comparing yourself to others.

How do you build confidence when you notice that you are drawing comparisons? First, remind yourself that doing so isn’t helpful. Everyone is running their own race and life isn’t a competition.

If you’re feeling envious of someone else’s life, it's also helpful to remind yourself of your own strengths and successes. Keep a gratitude journal to help you recall the areas in life where you are blessed. This can help you focus on your own life versus the lives of others.

  3. Move forward in spite of fear.

There are many things we face before we’re ready. Yes, we can and should be prepared (don’t just jump into the deep end of the pool when you literally don’t know how to swim). But most of the tough stuff isn’t life or death—so don’t wait for the confidence to come. Sometimes the best way to find your confidence is to just go for it!

In most situations (aside from rock climbing, skydiving, and bungee jumping), the worst-case scenario is rarely as bad as it feels. Sometimes simply recognizing the WORST possibility can make us realize it’s a lot less scary and nebulous than we think. So what’s the worst that can happen? You could fail. You could fall. You could get hurt. But you know what? You pick yourself back up. You can always recover and the more you recover, the stronger you’ll become.

  4. Surround yourself with positive people.

The people you spend time with can influence your thoughts and attitudes about yourself, perhaps more than you realize. So, pay attention to how others make you feel. If you feel bad about yourself after hanging out with a particular person, it may be time to say goodbye.

Instead, surround yourself with people who love you and want the best for you. Seek out others who are positive and can help build your confidence. Self-confidence and a positive attitude go hand-in-hand.

  5. Love yourself unconditionally.

We love others unconditionally, and yet, when it comes to ourselves, we’re super critical and harsh. You are amazing. You only have one body and one shot at life, so make it count. Embrace what you’ve got!

Confidence is a trust that you have the ABILITY, determination, and the will to do “X” (whatever it is you love to do, do well, and kick butt at). Confidence is based on who you are and no one else can take that away. No one can take away your determination or your will. No one else can take away your ability to live your dreams. This is within you and something you create for yourself.

  6. Practice Positive self talk. Self-talk the way your inner voice makes sense of the world around you and the way you communicate with your inner self can greatly affect your stress levels in multiple ways. Practice as much as possible negative self talk because it can limit your abilities and lessen your confidence by convincing your subconscious that you "can't handle" something or that it is "too hard" and you "shouldn't even try.

" Self confidence is a super power. Once you start believing in yourself, Magic starts happening."
